With new and ambitious senior leadership, the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) was looking to increase the visibility of their work and build their reputation within the UN system and beyond.
As a consultant Head of Communications, Edward improved the team’s story-telling skills and put UNCTAD’s digital and media channels to maximum use. He also wrote and placed op-eds in the UK Guardian and the East African, one of the region’s most influential outlets, and obtained valuable coverage in the UK’s Financial Times.
Visibility jumped across all UNCTAD’s channels. In the six-month period, media mentions jumped 50 percent to reach an average 1,350 per month, for example. UNCTAD’s website rose 20,000 places on a global ranking of websites (Alexa).
